Otto Wagner Court Pavilion – Hietzing, Vienna
← To project overview
The Court Pavilion, built in 1899 according to designs by Otto Wagner, is a representative building of the Vienna Stadtbahn intended for imperial use. During the general renovation (2011–2014), the wooden interior architecture, wall and ceiling paneling, doors, and decorative furnishing elements underwent conservation and restoration treatment.
The work included the Imperial Waiting Room, adjacent rooms, corridors, and loggias. In addition to structural consolidation, the securing of detached veneers and moldings, and the supplementation of missing sections, gilded and metallic-effect decors were restored. The objective was to restore the original materiality and surface effect while taking the historical polychromy into account.
