Restoration of historic wooden interiors, joinery and art objects

My name is Titusz Bogdandy, a certified conservator-restorer. I have been active in Austria and Hungary since 2000. I specialize in the conservation and restoration of high-value wooden artifacts, ranging from exquisite handcrafted pieces to complete interior furnishings of listed historical buildings. I earned my degree from the Hungarian University of Fine Arts, specializing in the restoration of wooden sculpture. Conservation Practice and Methodology My professional career began at the restoration center of the Hungarian National Heritage Institute, where my work included practical restoration, research, and technical assessments. Following a period of independent practice in Hungary and Austria, I joined Kopp Restauratoren GmbH in Vienna in 2012, where I currently serve as a project manager. A holistic approach is central to my work and is essential for the preservation of historical monuments. With over 25 years of experience, I apply this principle confidently in practice. The restoration of historic buildings requires close collaboration with planners, art historians, fellow specialists, and heritage authorities—a field in which I have decades of expertise. For over five years, we have utilized various laser cleaning systems, which are continuously being refined. For veneer bonding and consolidation, we employ state-of-the-art high-pressure injection technology. Our expertise also includes computer-aided woodworking (CNC). My portfolio primarily encompasses church furnishings, altars, furniture, and wooden interiors in palaces and listed buildings. On this website, I present a selection of projects from my professional career.
