In the course of the restoration of approximately 30 pieces of seating furniture from the Great Salon – including chairs, armchairs, and settees – later polychromy was removed and the original surfaces were exposed. The work included the structural consolidation of the wooden frames, the re-gluing and supplementation of veneers using traditional glutin glue, and the reconstruction of the original gilding with finely tuned retouching.
