Throne Room – Inlaid Parquet, Salzburg Residenz

← To project overview

The high-quality inlaid parquet of the Throne Room in the Salzburg Residenz dates from the first half of the 18th century and represents a historically significant flooring made of walnut and maple wood with a complex geometric composition.

Restoration measures: A comprehensive structural restoration of the entire parquet system was carried out. Following the repair of open joints as well as detached and damaged parquet elements, missing and previous improper additions were removed and replaced with new wooden inserts based on the historical structure. Finally, the parquet panels were readjusted and secured, and the surfaces were unified and aesthetically integrated.
